Bird Birthday Bash

I have a SIX year old. What?! And my 6 year old is obsessed with birds and nature. What's a party-designing-mama to do... Create an Audubon themed birthday party, that's what!

Every year Finley celebrates his birthday with his cousin, Grayson, for a family celebration. This year I was a little nervous asking my sister-in-law if she was "cool" with a bird theme! Are birds all the rave with boys... because Lora said Grayson loves him some birds too! ;) The bird theme was a GO!


The hunt for Bird and Nature themed ideas began! Green grass table runners, a tree trunk charger/platter, branches, rocks and pine cones helped decorate each table. I found small realistic birds and nests at the dollar store {score!} and we gifted Finley with a few plush birds that I used as decor for the party.

Each little Bird Watcher received a hand-made vest {made by my amazing mama, "grandma barbara" ... the grandma that made the jet packs, tutus and felt pizzas!} adorned with an owl patch and "official bird expert" sticker! Grandma Barbara spoiled the kiddos with plenty of outdoor necessities to top of each Bird Watching outfit... Mini flashlights, mini compasses, binoculars and safari hats! SO fun!

 We sent the kids out on a Nature Scavenger Hunt! They needed to collect elements from nature and look for certain Wisconsin Backyard Birds! Thank goodness for a beautiful autumn day in Wisconsin!

Each Bird Fanatic left with their own bird feeder, so they can continue to watch birds from home!

It was fun and MESSY making our home-made, pine cone bird feeders!

Each "Early Bird" got their own baggie of gummy worms to snack on after the scavenger hunt! Yum Yum!

I had fun making sweets for the outdoors theme with chocolate acorns {made from chocolate kisses, mini nutter butters and chocolate chips!} and dirt dessert!

We called out party location the "Leis Audubon Center", as it was transformed into a Bird Watchers dream!

Here's my favorite Bird Watcher, Finley, accommodating me with a pose in all his gear! He LOVES to draw birds, so we had to use his art as decoration throughout the party too...

I had a blast creating a unique and specialized theme for two special and unique boys! When Fin said he wanted a "bird party", I admit, I was a little nervous. But once I got going, I couldn't stop and found this theme to be my favorite so far!

And, by gosh by golly, my shop is officially OPEN again for business! I have stretched my maternity leave as far as I could. Customer Approved! Camp Run-A-Muk!

Check out the amazing Camping Party that a customer of mine made for her son, Andrew! Using all nellie*design Camping Party Printable Decorations and Invitations, this mama created one classic camping party experience! Take a look at Amber's blog for more great details from the party!

An adorable chalkboard sign welcomed guests, while burlap, bandana print, hay bails, wood platters and home made tents dressed up this outdoor party nicely. 

The printable invitation set the tone for the party with its burlap background, red tent and brown wooden letters. I just LOVE those custom made tents and burlap pennant banner too!

Each camper had a great selection of snacks and treats to keep happy! From custom labeled s'mores kits and trail mix bags to personalized water bottle wraps, every detail was met! How great is that s'more cake pop, shown with the little cutie pie below...

Yum Yum! Check out this ice cream bar with plenty of toppings to choose from, all with their own custom label. The red paper bowls tied with a chevron-printed wooden spoon are such a fun detail too!

What 6 year old boy wouldn't want to go on a scavenger hunt, looking for rocks, leaves, twigs and more! Amber had me create a custom, printable, scavenger hunt card with clip art for the non-readers in the bunch! I'm sure after the hunt, the boys loved quenching their thirst with their own, custom labeled, water canteen!

Amber was such a great customer to work with! I enjoy personalizing my original Camping Decor Package, but also love making extra designs, like the scavenger hunt card shown above! I look forward to personalizing YOUR camping party!

I'm officially stretching this Camping Party design for all its worth! I worked with an excellent customer to personalize my camping party printables for a Bridal Shower! Check out her gorgeous details over at The Jacksonville Bride!

The burlap and fushia work perfectly to make a glamorous, yet rustic and outdoorsy, event! I just love the pop of fushia napkins on the tabletop, against all the neutral tones. And those 'smore favor bags, hanging from twine with clothespins, are pure perfection!

 Each guest was sent home with a kraft-bag of trail mix, personalized with a custom designed sticker.

Mason jars, with a striped straw, add the perfect vintage touch to the table top, while individually wrapped water bottles tie in the colors and theme of the event perfectly.

It looks like the party was pure success! Every detail was met, down to personal jars of macaroni, with a custom sticker adorning the top! I love how this hostess came up with new and unique ideas for some of the printables I originally created for a birthday party!

Customer Approved! Camp 6 Rocks!

I recently had the pleasure of working with a very creative hostess-mama on her son's Camping Themed birthday party! Check out some of her amazing ideas!

This table setting has no detail unmet! From the perfectly matched red gingham table cloth, to the gorgeous green moss table runner, this table top has it all! I LOVE each individual setting, adorn with wooden tree trunk "chargers", a kraft favor box tied with a printable favor tag and personalized metal water bottle! Everything is so rustic, yet so contemporary and chic. The wooden boxes, vintage lantern and acorns make an extra statement to the center piece!

I love this beautiful drink & treat stand, with cups in a drawer of a perfectly matched dresser! And those marshmallow pops sticking in a basket of grass... so perfect!

Speaking of treats... check out all the goodies that were at this Camping Party... I love the adorable tree limb sign holders!

Each little camper went home with some seriously sweet swag! A backpack, metal water bottle and red bandana, to name a few! How adorable is that birthday boy, wearing a personalized "6" shirt! What a cutie.

While the boys were being boys, check out that cutie-pie-girl sitting in her very own tent. What a great accessory to this fun party. And it looks like the little campers had a fun game of potato sack races too!

A bounce house and mini-four-wheeler complete this seriously awesome camping party! Camp 6, surely did, ROCK! :)

Still grinning from ear to ear. {Then I think of those 8 year old girls' in the photos and think they all must really be beaming! haha!}

"Treasured" Camping Parties!

All things Camping is H.O.T. Hot right now! Especially for this holiday weekend! My Camping Party invites were featured in three separate amazing treasuries on Etsy yesterday!

Cindy, from Moon Beans Gifts, created this fun treasury, which features items like an adorable felt hamburger grill set, s'more pinata, and even beef jerky!

The shop owner of Pretty Whimsical created this "summer camp" themed Treasury. I LOVE the "Happy Camper" Hand Printed T-shirt and I heart Camping Button!

And finally, check out this great "summer camp" themed Treasury, curated by Rosebuds Originals. I am loving all the aqua colored items grouped in this treasury. The Vintage Camping Cookware and Vintage White Lantern just makes me smell the campfire and think camping all the way!

Customer Approved! Camp Keaton

I recently worked with a wonderful customer, who was inspired by Lauren's camping party, {which was featured on The TomKat Studio's blog} showcasing my camping party printable designs! I enjoyed receiving Kristin's photos of her adorable son and his fun and rustic camping party. Kristin did a great job of making this printable party her own {wait, that sounded like a comment by an American Idol judge!} and added some unique touches... Here is the main entrance and party display table... how great are those polka dot balloons?!

Here's the adorable birthday boy, Keaton, proudly sporting his Camp Keaton shirt! Kristin asked me to design the front and back for her to print and iron onto the shirt. I think it turned out pretty fantastic!

Chocolate cake and cupcakes galore! This giant "5" cake with snakes and grass all around is perfect for a 5 year old BOY's camping party! And the cupcake toppers are the perfect touch to those yummy looking cupcakes!

The display table was packed with all sorts of goodies, with matching printable tags... the perfect way to tie everything in together!

And finally, check out this creative idea for a fun camping game... A scavenger hunt! Kristin asked me to design a list for her to add to these kraft bags for each little guest to check off as they find! I'm sure this crowd of 5 year old boys went nuts for this!

Customer Approved! Camping Birthday Party

Oh man, was this fun to receive all these photos from one of my recent customers! You have GOT to see how Lauren used all the printables from my camping party set {with a few customized items}...

A sweets table set the tone of the party with a chocolate/white polka dot backdrop, burlap printed banner and sweets and treats galore!

Check out this gorgeous entry way! Oh wait, this post is about the decorations, not my love for her house! :P Lauren added some chocolate, tan & red balloons with wooden signs to spruce up the entry way and welcome guest's to a fabulous camping themed party! Even the tent in the backyard was adorned with a banner and balloons!

Every detail was met... down to the "outhouse"...

How fun is this watermelon hedgehog! I think every camping party needs one! :) Lauren asked me to create a "mini banner", which she used as decoration in a cool basket of grass! Mini anything is always fun!

Favor bags were filled with snacks topped off with fold over bag tags and mini waters were wrapped with personalized labels. {Even the wooden spoons were personalized!}

Each little hiker was given their very own, personalized water bottles in blue or pink!

Look at all this yummy food with perfectly labeled cards by each plate. And how great are the personalized wooden utensils... so great for that rustic camper feel! Lauren even labeled the condiments! Again, no detail was missed!

Fire logs, dirt cups, bear claws and more! I love the gingham and burlap table cloths underneath and the chopped-log serving as a plate for the treats!

Even the veggies at this party look irresistible!

 

And no camping party can be complete without a s'more bar and special fresh-squeezed drink! Yum.
